Who We Are
Embrace Uganda is a non-profit organization. We work to serve some of the 2.3 million orphans in Uganda. We are a very grassroots organization. We have NO paid staff. Even our team on the ground in Uganda, AJ and Ana Overton, receive only $500 a month to cover their housing, food and transportation needs. They get nothing for themselves! I serve as an unpaid Executive Director and many others volunteer their time to help. Volunteers raise funds, organize mission teams, design and update our website, manage logistics as well as handle all the day to day business activities. More than 50% of the funds raised have been raised by youth who have hosted book sales, soccer tournaments, 5K races, concerts, etc. Youth serving youth – it is powerful!
